Seriously?

Stuart says the baby is the only one I blog about, and I guess that's kinda true, but I love all my babies, but right now Stockton is the unpredictable one that makes me want to pull my hair out, and when he does stuff he doesn't know yet if it is funny, or wrong, or silly, or naughty, so he is my main target, but I do love all my babies!!!!

Anyway, on with my Stockton story. I was getting everything put in my car and getting ready for Activity Days tonight. When I came upstairs to get the kids, I found Stockton in the bathroom with one foot planted on the ground, and the other inserted into the toilet. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Luckily he had just flushed it, and no I didn't get a picture because as soon as he saw me he removed his foot. I think I need to surgically attach a camera to myself, so I don't have to waste a hand carrying it around all the time. Anyway, the trials of the toddler continue.

Caught in a Sweet Moment

This happened a few weeks ago, but I felt like the pictures were priceless, so I wanted to post about them. This was a few weeks ago, and I was busy making dinner. I was right in the middle of all of it when I looked over to see Stockton holding Emma's baby, a cell phone, and a bottle. He was holding the baby so nicely and feeding it the bottle. It was so cute. I have to enjoy these precious moments right now, because a lot of the time I'd like to sell him, or lock him in his room or something. It's moments like these that keep me going. I know that todlerhood doesn't last forever, but sometimes it feels like it.

He caught me taking pictures of him.

Isn't he being sweet? I just love it!!
I don't know what roll the cell phone played in all of it, but he wouldn't let it go for anything.

Friday night fun!

We have a standing appointment on Friday nights, I guess you could call it a family tradition. Pizza and Movie night!!! We like to rent/watch a family movie together, and make home-made pizza together. This is really a favorite family activity. It has become even more fun in the past month or so, because I finally decided the kids were big enough to help for real. Now, they get to roll out their own dough, and make their own little pizzas. I let them do it all! We always have a really fun time and we all look forward to Friday nights! This is just a little of the fun we have!

Stuart Showing off is dough tossing abilities.

Okay, so I do help them when it comes to the quantity of the sauce and toppings, but they do the rest themselves.

The pre-cooked finish product!

One of these days, I'll probably kill myself!

I'm not the most graceful person, and this next story proves that. This afternoon, I had a minute of peace while the kids were busy playing, so I decided to check my email. By the time I was done my foot had fallen asleep, but the kids needed me downstairs, so I decided to walk it off. I was going down the stairs by bracing myself on the wall, and kind of hopping down on my one good foot. After about three steps of this, I thought to myself "this isn't very smart, I could fall really easily." So, I decided to walk down like normal, but the first step on the sleeping foot meant disaster. I don't know exactly how it happened, but it came out from under me and the next thing I knew I was sailing down the stairs on my butt, back, side, arm and hand. When I landed on the tile at the bottom, those were all the things that hurt, including my neck and the back of my head. I'm not feeling that great right now, but not really in pain. I'm sure things will just be a little sore for a few days. When I landed and stopped crying and assured the kids that mommy was in fact okay, I was really wishing someone had caught it on tape. I'm sure it would have been good for a few thousand laughs on youtube. The only question that remains is: Will I always be such a spaz?

Longest Week Ever!!

No, Seriously, it has been the longest week ever. Last Wednesday Preston came down with a fever. One minute he was playing with friends, and the next minute he was sitting on the couch wrapped in a blanket running a fever. That was just the beginning. He only threw up once, but spent two days in and out of a fever induced coma. Just as he was coming out of it, Stockton started up. Again, he only threw up once, but he ran a fever on and off for about 4 days. I was finally thinking we would be able to get back some kind of life today, until Emma woke up at 4a.m. with...you got it, a fever. No throwing up yet, but the fever continues. With Stuart being busy trying to keep up with classes, studying, subbing jobs, and reffing basketball, I've been home with just the kids a lot. I've only left the house twice, and I wouldn't call the grocery store and outing! I'm going stir crazy. I really hate the winter yucks! Please let Emma be the last one!!
Needless to say, this is a wonderful site to a weary and worn out mom! Two of my babies sleeping peacefully!

However, this bundle of joy must be feeling much better, because I put him to bed almost two hours ago, and he is still playing and having a lovely time.

Under Construction

Sorry folks, but I'm attempting to change things up a bit, and it's proving to be harder than it should be (note previous post about being technologically challenged). I currently can't figure out how to get my header picture right. If I was just a technoid I could figure it out. Oh heaven help me!

All about Stuart

I know that a lot of you already know about this, but I wanted to post it for the few that don't and because I want to! Stuart has started Graduate School at UNLV. He was admitted in December into the Graduate Licensure Program (GLP). It is basically a program that fits our needs to a T and we are very excited that it is available for him. He will spend the next year getting licensed to teach and the year after that finishing up the courses he'll need to earn his masters degree in Education. YEA!!! After 7 1/2 crazy, weird, exciting, stressful, fun, busy, unexpected, and great years together, we are finally right back where we started, and I couldn't be more thrilled. When we first got married, all Stuart ever wanted to do was to become a history teacher and High School Basketball coach. I was cool with that, I just want him to be able to do something that makes him happy. Somewhere along the road, life came up, and we kept making choices that led us away from his dream instead of toward it. As we all know, our choices have consequences, and some of the consequences we have faced have been wonderful blessings in our lives and have given us experiences we couldn't have gotten any other way. Some of the consequences have been grueling and heartbreaking, yet being on this side of them we see the purpose and value in them as well. The wonderful thing is that we are back on track and it feels good. He has been back in classes for four weeks now and from what he tells me it is going good and he is enjoying most of it, but dreading some of the "busy work" that comes with an education degree. It is taking some time for him to get back in school mode, but that's understandable seeing how it's been 5 years since he graduated. Anyway, I am so proud of Stuart for making this choice. It hasn't been easy, and it won't be easy, but I think it takes courage to do what you believe will make you happy and bring you fulfillment, instead of doing whats easy. Wish us luck on the next phase of our journey! I love you Stuart!

So, I'm a reader. I love to read. Lately it has been my sanity. I love just getting lost in a good book. I'll be honest, most of what I read could be considered fluff, you know, not too sophisticated, just a good, easy read. However, lately I've been trying to read some of the good classics. I read Pride and Prejudice for the first time last year, and loving it so much, I'm now reading Emma. In my opinion, the best people to recommend books, are the people you know. So let me know what your favorite reads are, either past or present, either classic or fluff. I just need help finding a good book.
